Aishwarya Now Goodwill Ambassador of Smile Train

Besides being hailed as the most beautiful woman in the world, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has always been synonymous to God's eternal answer to beauty, grace and gorgeousness. After having been crowned as Miss World, Ash (as she is fondly called), has now been announced as the first Goodwill Ambassador for Smile Train, the world's largest cleft charity. As a part of this Ambassadorship, Ash will partner with Smile Train, in association with her own charity (Aishwarya Rai Foundation), in numerous ways to spread awareness and garner recourses to help the worldwide movement.

Aishwarya will work with Smile Train to achieve an ambitious new goal in helping change the lives of over one million children worldwide who suffer from shame and isolation because of cleft lip and cleft palate. As the Goodwill Ambassador, Aishwarya will actively work to help Smile Train to provide free cleft surgery to children in 78 developing countries around the world, including India.


This initiative will help raise awareness in India and around the world to the plight of children born with cleft. Talking about this association, the ever-so-gorgeous Aishwarya said, "God has given me plenty of reasons to smile and I feel it's time to spread it around. There are a lot of children out there who so desperately need help, but can't receive timely care because their families cannot afford this surgery or are ill-educated about this condition. Working with Smile Train, if I can make a difference in their lives, it will certainly make me feel honored and blessed."


With Aishwarya coming on board, Brian Mullaney, President- Smile Train, said, "Aishwarya's universal appeal and star power will be a priceless asset to our organization, and we consider it a great privilege to have her represent our organization, which does such important work in every corner of the globe," said. "I look forward to working with her. Her poise, intelligence and dedication to our mission will catapult the work that we do to new and exciting heights."

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is certainly keeping busy shooting for her two newest films, Endhiran with Rajni and Mani Ratnam’s Ravana. In fact, she is having to jump from one shooting schedule directly into the next.

Right now she is in the forests of Kerala shooting with Abhishek for Ravana but starting the 18th she will be rushing off to Chennai to shoot scenes for Endhiran . A source said, “Presently the shooting of Rajni starrer mega budget film, Endhiran is going on but the portions that are being shot don’t require Aish. But from 18th December onwards some really important sequences of Endhiran are going to be shot in and around Chennai. Aish will be present with the Endhiran unit till month end post which there will again be a break for a few weeks.”

Abhishek will be going back Mumbai after the Ravana schedule and once Aishwarya is done with Endhiran seems the two will go on a much need

Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai Bachchan ushered in her 36th birthday with family members and close friends here today.

"We have also just brought in Aishwarya's birthday and wished her love and happiness and a long prosperous life. It was just the family," the actress's father-in-law mega star Amitabh Bachchan wrote on his blog posted in the wee hours of the morning.

reigning queen aka most beautiful woman in the world Aishwarya Rai let slip a
teeny weeny bit of information in a TV interview late last night.

Apparently
Aishwarya and hubby Abhishek, after being married for four years are now ready
to have a bunch of kids.

"Of course, babies, motherhood obviously" she said, "God willing it is an
absolute gift. God bless when it is meant to be and of course we are looking
forward to it and we will definitely cherish the experience."

Ash also talked about balancing marriage and work and how hectic her life
has become. "I got married bang in the middle of a film," she said, "Five
years ago you would asked me this question I would have never imagined this
would have happened. I would have said I would wrap-up my work, take a couple
of months off, pamper myself and then gotten married. But there I go bang in
the middle of a historical piece."

Ash is now officially the highest paid Bollywood actress as she appears in
Rajnikanth's upcming sci-fi romantic flick 'Robot'. She says that she has
always been a fan of Rajni and that shooting for 'Robot' was extremely
exciting "Firstly because we've all grown up watching Rajinikanth films and
all those moves – it's been exciting, everyone around me was excited about me
working with him. So that got infectious. The first time he made a subtle move
– the kind that we see on television or in spoofs – I almost let out a chuckle
and thought, 'Oh my God! I have seen this moment right here. I just saw a
Rajini moment!' I was beeming throughout."

Although unlike the current trend, Ash has no interest in IPL. "We have not
thought or discussed it at all" she asserted.

The Sufi inspired music score has been composed by none other than the melodic trio Shankar Ehsaan Loy. The couple has been styled by leading fashion designer Aki Narula with make-up done by Mickey Contractor.
